Orzeł Biały Group is the largest Group specialising in recycling of used batteries and a leading producer of refined lead in Poland with international outreach.
- The Group earned in Q3 2019 revenues at PLN 143.4 million
- The EBITDA of The Group (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) amounted to PLN 9.2 million, up 16.6% y-o-y
- Net profit of Orzeł Biały Group amounted to PLN 4.8 million, up 65.5% as against similar period of last year.
- Operating profit of Orzeł Biały amounted to 6.6 million, up 17.8% as against the result of Q3 last year.
- In the area of core business operations, the volume of refined lead sold was 16.2 thousand metric tonnes, up 4.3% y-o-y.
The third quarter of this year saw the downward trend in lead prices reversed, which has persisted since the beginning of this year and which was reflected in the results achieved by the Group. In this period, there was a 1.1% increase in lead prices denominated in PLN as compared to the same quarter last year. The positive result was also influenced by the more cost-effective structure of raw materials for production.
In the reporting period, the Group received the results of the customs and fiscal inspection for 2014-2017. Currently, the Group together with tax and legal advisors conducts a detailed analysis of the results of the Inspection.
As regards significant events, UOKIK (Antimonoply Office) issued a positive decision regarding the concentration, as a result of which a sales agreement of 100% shares in NEF Battery Holdings S.a.r.l. was effected to ZAP Sznajder Batterien S.A., which subsequently announced a tender offer call to sign up for the sale of shares of The Company. The Calling Party intends to achieve up to 100% of share capital of The Company – “The change of the majority shareholder who is an industry shareholder opens new possibilities for Orzeł Biały Group. The combination of shared synergies will enable operational optimisation and effective building of value growth of The Company while maintaining the highest environmental standards” – said Konrad Sznajder, President of the Management Board of Orzeł Biały.
