The Management Board of Orzeł Biały S.A. (hereinafter: “the Issuer,” “the Company”) announces that today it decided to begin work on defining new strategic directions for Orzeł Biały S.A. and updating its Development Strategy.
Global changes, including in particular changes in battery production technology and the emergence of battery types that serve as alternatives to lead-acid batteries, are having a significant impact on the Company’s market environment. The development of energy storage technologies, including alternative technologies, will shape the situation in the medium and long term—both on the supply side (the need to recycle new types of batteries and adapt stable and efficient technology) and from the perspective of the Company’s main customers.
Taking into account the need to ensure production continuity, observed market trends, and the Company’s current legal environment—including requirements stemming from European Union regulations—as well as the need to strive for the best possible results within the framework of the circular economy, the Company’s Management Board has decided to begin work on updating the Development Strategy and defining new strategic directions, with particular emphasis on the potential for development activities in the following areas:
– in the area of recycling batteries and accumulators other than lead-acid batteries, including, in particular, development activities related to the development, acquisition, or implementation of technologies ofrecycling of alternative batteries and accumulators.
– in the area of potential mergers and acquisitions that could enable the Company to achieve positive synergies and lead to its expansion into new markets, including international markets.
– in the area of new environmental technologies, the implementation of which could improve the efficiency of production processes and optimize waste management.
– in the area of photovoltaic panel recycling, which is a key element of sustainable development in the renewable energy sector, enabling the efficient recovery of raw materials and the minimization of waste.
– in the area of the green transition through investments in renewable energy sources or related technologies, as well as the search for promising renewable energy solutions applicable within industrial processes.
– in the area of investments in the construction of a new landfill to ensure the long-term security of waste management.
The areas indicated above constitute the main focus of work on defining the future strategic directions for the development of Orzeł Biały S.A. The implementation of development activities within these new areas will be financed primarily from the company’s generated profits—including profits carried forward from previous years—as well as from EU funds and other available sources.
The final form of the future development strategy is subject to change based on ongoing market research and analysis, as well as due to the impact of emerging market factors and events.
The Issuer will disclose decisions made as a result of the review of strategic options in accordance with applicable law.
