Strategic Investment Plan for 2017 to 2019 by Orzeł Biały S.A.

The Management Board of Orzeł Biały S.A. (“The Issuer”, “The Company”) hereby announces that on 01.03.2017 it decided by virtue of the Resolution no 16/2017 as approved by the Supervisory Board on the same day in its positive opinion to implement The Strategic Investment Plan for 2017 to 2019 („The Investment Plan”).

The Investment Plan provides for the implementation of projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and quality control and environmental projects with a total estimated value of approx. PLN 28 million such as:
– design and construction of the industrial and research building along with the infrastructure,

– the research and development project and the construction of a electrolyte filter plant,

– construction of a pilot slag plant.

The aim of the established Strategic Investment Plan is to modernise and improve the research and production facility of the Company in connection with the growing customer demands and as a result of the ever increasing market competition.

At the same time, due to frequent changes in environmental regulations, we are obliged to follow these changes, among other things, by investing in new developments and solutions.

In addition, the establishment of The Investment Plan is a result of the organisational changes made within Orzeł Biały Group involving the incorporation into the Company of key business areas performed and supported previously by the individual Group companies, mainly in order to consolidate the business including, among others, assets and human resources, which resulted in the need to adjust the research and process facilities to the current organisational structure of The Issuer.

The expected outcome of these investments will be in achieving synergies by integrating at one place of acquired business areas following the incorporation and achieving an additional research and industrial space which will allow for the application of advanced technologies and a modern facility to better and more efficient manage own waste generated in the process of battery scrap recycling, particularly in terms of waste generation minimisation and also possible treatment of third-party waste, especially such as containing lead compounds.
